Treatment of smallpox in a child: viruses and symptoms
Smallpox is a disease caused by viruses - that's why her treatment is relieving symptoms - high fever and itching resulting from pimples appearing on the skin.
Before the smallpox symptoms become visible the child may be cranky, irritable, and tired (can sleep more), have less appetite. also cold-like symptoms may appear - a sore throat, a slight cough, and even vomiting as a result of weakening of the body.
High fever in the child may be reduced with preparations intended for children - ibuprofen and paracetamol. It is worth knowing and clearly stating here some sources recommend paracetamol-based drugs instead of Nurofen or Ibuprofen in smallpox fever. Administering ibuprofen to a child with smallpox can weaken the body and extend the time of illness, but if paracetamol does not reduce high fever, there is no point in delaying the administration of another active substance.
