Only local products in kindergarten?

The Minister of Agriculture of Great Britain came out with a very interesting initiative, which recommends introducing the obligation to use a local, seasonal menu in kindergartens and schools. Meals would be prepared only with British fruit, vegetables and products made available by local producers.

In this way, children are to learn about local products, associate their appearance with changes in the aura and seasons. The minister emphasizes the educational aspect that can be obtained in this way.

From September, the new program will be implemented in all schools and kindergartens in England.

Maybe it would be worth following the example from Great Britain and supporting local suppliers, learning about great and often forgotten food products, implementing healthy habits from an early age?
